The LFE Lab brings together the full research portfolio of Learning from Excellence. Our work explores how excellence is created in healthcare: through behaviours, relationships, teamwork, civility, psychological safety, and the everyday practices that enable people to perform at their best.
The Lab curates and shares:

• thematic analyses from safety briefings and qualitative studies
• emerging insights from collaborative projects across the LFE community
Together, these outputs form a growing evidence base on what works in practice, and how positive behaviours contribute to safer, more effective, and more compassionate care.

Posters from our LFE conferences:
The full archive of Learning from Excellence conference posters spanning 6 conferences since 2017. It showcases over 100 posters from improvement projects, research summaries and examples of excellent practice from across the LfE and Civility Saves Lives communities.
Posters are grouped by conference year and organised into themes such as civility, positive reporting, appreciative inquiry, workplace culture, staff wellbeing and LfE‑informed quality improvement. Each section includes the poster titles, brief descriptors and downloadable PDFs or slideshows.
The collection provides a rich, real‑world record of how teams have used LfE principles to improve culture, safety, wellbeing and clinical practice across healthcare settings.

LFE Database Analysis — planned future work
The LFE database contains thousands of examples of excellence from across healthcare, offering a rich qualitative resource. We intend to develop a programme of analysis to explore patterns, behaviours, and conditions that support high‑quality work.
Before any analysis can be shared, this work will require formal ethics and R&D approval. Planning for this is underway, and updates will be provided once the review process begins.
When progressed, this work is expected to offer:
• thematic insights from large‑scale qualitative data
• examples of positive practice across teams and settings
• evidence to support learning, improvement, and culture change
